WELCOME!!
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! There might be many changes and new ideas this year, but the one thing that remains the same is my priority to make your child's year a successful one filled with academic and social growth! Communication is key, so along with emailing, sending notes, and setting up parent/teacher conferences, this site was created to inform you of important dates, provide you with resources to use at home, and to give you a glimpse of what 2nd grade looks like. I look forward to this year with your children!
I will continue to update and improve this site, so please check this weekly. You may even want to use the websites tabs daily. You can email me anytime at: mailto:[email protected] |
![]() SPOTLIGHT
Everyone has signed up for conferences, thank you! Conferences will be held on Oct. 11, 12, and 13 in Room 5. District progress reports for Triad 1 will be discussed and given at conferences. *********************************************************************** Each child has an AR goal for Semester 1. A summary of your child’s AR quizzes was sent home on Monday, Oct. 3. A label with your child's goal was attached to the summary. I will continue to send home updates towards their goal. The label states: *how many points they need to earn (point goal) by the end of Semester 1, which is January 20th. *how many points they've earned as of the date on the label *how close they are to that goal (this is the percentage) If your child receives new books, you can use arbookfind.com to check whether they have an AR test or not and to see what the level is. The Sun City Public Library has AR books that your child can read at home and take tests on at school. *Remember: AR tests can only be taken at school, but parents may track their child's progress through ARHomeConnect. Students are expected to quiz on their 2 AR library books each week. They may also quiz on classroom books and books from home that are their level. READ! READ! READ! to join us in the AR Semester Celebration! |
